Some patrons express concerns over the price range, which averages between £50 and £60 per person. While many find the quality justifies the cost, some diners discuss looking for more affordable options, especially during these uncertain times. Additionally, while the atmosphere is generally praised, a few reviews mention that the intimacy of the restaurant can sometimes lead to noise levels that detract from the experience. The need for reservations can also be inconvenient for spontaneous diners, potentially leading to disappointment during busy periods. Lastly, while the menu offers a delightful array of French cuisine, some guests feel limited by the availability of options for larger groups, preferring more variety in sharing platters or multicourse meals.
We had a great time at this restaurant. The rustic and very traditional details transported us to the south of France, to places we've visited. Very good service and Delicious Food. Someone recommended this place to us, and now we recommend it. Ollie & Andrea
Jeremy is a creative and talented chef, producing exceptional French cuisine that is both delicious and flavourful. In an age where many restaurants don't have a cook or chef in the kitchen and simply buy in pre-prepared food for re-heating, it was so refreshing to find such an excellent restaurant and dine in an historic building in the centre of Wheathampstead. All the food was delicious. The puddings were fabulous. Le Moulin is a great asset to the village and we are fortunate that living nearby, we will be able to return soon.
It's a charming spot with authentic French cuisine. The duck confit was perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere felt like a Parisian bistro. Definitely coming back!
Just had a wonderful meal, all four of us had different starters and mains all cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed our evening, highly recommend and we will definitely return. Thank you
Great service from start to finish! The staff here were super helpful and gave great advice on choosing bathroom panels. Prices were also very reasonable.
A fabulous little venue with a first class personal service. A super atmosphere with such an interesting kitchen makes a magic evening out. Book ahead!
I don't give five stars lightly but this place deserved it. Chef run and food made with real expertise. I'm not a wine drinker but this was excellent wine. Ham croquettes starter was excellent. Amazing salsa versa. Suck breast for main, also cooked to perfection. Excellent roast potatoes and chunky bacon knobs. Cheese for dessert. A fine selection, not quite warmed enough but hey, we were the only people dining so it's forgiveable. Was expensive but was worth it. We will return.
